Bharananganam Tourism is latest tourist spot of Indian tourism. This is the most visited holy tourism place in India today. Thousands of people flow to the holy land of Kerala everyday. The tomb of St. Alphonsa is in Bharananganam.

Thousands began coming to Bharananganam since the canonization of St. Alphonsa to pray at her tomb and be healed of various incurable sicknesses. It is proved and believed that Bharananganam Alphonsamma blesses those who pray whole heartedly.

The natives of Kerala address Saint Alphonsa as “Alphonsamma” with great devotion, passion and love. The literal meaning of it is ‘Mother Alphonsa’. Thus, the pilgrim centre Bharananganam has turned out to be one of the most popular pilgrim centres of Kerala. Thousands of pilgrims come to Bharananganam daily from all over India and abroad. Since India is a multilingual nation the Bharananganam church has holy mass in various languages too.

Other than the tomb of Saint Alphonsa there is the Alphonsa museum in Bharananganam. In the Alphonsa museum presents all the available photographs of St. Alphonsa and her belongings. The belongings of Bharananganam Alphonsamma include her broom, chair, books, mat, plates, cot, etc. The feast of Saint Alphonsamma is celebrated so well and innumerable people come to it. As Blessed Alphonsa became St. Alphonsa the place Bharananganam also became a saintly pilgrimage.

This has been a popular tourist spot of both Kerala tourism and Kottayam tourism. The Bharananganam pilgrimage or the Bharananganam tourist spot goes along with the nearby tourist spots of Kottayam district including Ilaveezhapoonchira Valley, Poonjar palace, Vagomon hills, Kumarokam backwaters, etc. For those who come from Cochin tourism to tourism Thekkady, Bharananganam is on the way. So, you don’t have to arrange a special tour for it. The nearest airport to Bharananganam pilgrimage is the Cochin airport and the nearest railway station to Bharananganam is Kottayam railway station. There is a fine road way to the place from both Kottayam and Cochin to Bharananganam. The 3 star luxurious hotels near Bharananganam offer you the best food and accommodation. So, I think it is a must visit to Bharananganam.
