The Meshan Mani was built during the reign of Swathi Thirunal in 1833. It was crafted from on the wood mahogany by the artisan named Kulathooran.
The specialty of the Meshan Mani is not seen with any of the clock in the world. The artisan has fixed the face of a man on the dial of the Meshan Mani and the figure of two goats on either side of the man. The sculptures are so realistic too. Its peculiarity is that each time the clock completes an hour, the man on the dial of the clock opens the mouth and the two carved goats hit on his cheeks. It is really wonderful to see. It should even be considered as one of the wonders of the world.
